Taste of Italy: The largest trade fair devoted exclusively to authentic Italian food and wine in the U.S.

On Monday, February 25, the Italy-America Chamber of Commerce Texas will be hosting the 5th annual Taste of Italy trade fair and food and wine festival in Houston, the largest trade fair devoted exclusively to Italian food and wine in the U.S.

One of the highlights of this year’s gathering is sure to be the Prosciutto Master Class (see details below) featuring a “Prosciutto Whisperer” who will be sharing expert insights not only into how to preserve, carve, and serve Prosciutto di Parma but also how to use the entire thigh.

When it comes to Italian gastronomy, nothing matters more than authenticity. True Italian cuisine relies on genuine Italian ingredients. Without them, the chef or home cook lacks the necessary elements to recreate the wonders of Italian cooking.

Prosciutto di Parma, Parmigiano Reggiano, aceto balsamico tradizionale, extra-virgin olive oil, Grana Padano, mozzarella di bufala, bottarga, arborio and carnaroli rice… the list goes on and on. Classic Italian food products like these and myriad others are the building blocks of great Italian cuisine.

This year’s event will feature more than 300 authentic foods and wines. And the Prosciutto Master Class offers an invaluable opportunity to better understand and utilize this amazing Italian culinary treasure.
