Italian and American corporations, professionals, merchants and businessmen established the Italy-America Chamber of Commerce of Texas, a non-profit organization, in 1992. The primary goal of the Chamber was to promote trade relations between Italy and the United States, with a particular focus on the Gulf of Mexico area. This goal continues today.

The Chamber is part of an international network, which includes more than 150 chambers located in Italy and in various countries worldwide. In North America, the Chamber is part of a group of 10 Italian Chambers located in major metropolitan areas of Canada, Mexico and United States. These cooperating Chambers offer invaluable services and information to small and medium sized businesses seeking to establish trading partners or joint ventures and to major corporations seeking business connections.
