Houston Chronicle previews Taste of Italy

“The 2017 Taste of Italy Houston,” writes food editor Greg Morago for the Houston Chronicle, “to be held on March 6 at the Omni Houston Hotel, is welcoming the public to its extravaganza for the first time.”

“This year’s show will feature more than 60 Italian winemakers and food producers. Celebrity sommelier David Lynch [above, left], author of ‘Vino Italiano,’ will be the guest speaker. Lynch will host a seminar,’New Wave White Wines from Italy,’ that will include Joseph Kemble, Italian wine buyer for Spec’s, Thomas Moesse, Italian wine expert and owner of Vinology, Jamie De Leon, sommelier and Kroger’s fine wine specialist, and Jeremy Parzen, Italian wine writer, blogger and educator…”

“Another seminar, “Carbonara: Pecorino Vs. Parmigiano Reggiano’ will be moderated by Parzen and Houston Chronicle barbecue columnist and co-founder of the Houston Barbecue Festival J.C. Reid, both of whom have written extensively about pasta carbonara. Houston chefs Paul Petronella of Paulie’s and William Wright of Arthur Ave Italian American will prepare carbonara for sampling during the seminar.”
