We are pleased to report that our “Every Day in Lombardy” campaign has generated new awareness of and interest in Lombardy’s extraordinary tourist destinations.
Sponsored by the Regione Lombardia, the campaign included blog and social media posts about places like the mountain valleys of Valtellina where visitor cycle through Italian Alps, tour wineries, and enjoy Italy’s unique cuisine; and the city of Pavia, a leading off-the-beaten-path destination for culture, gastronomy, history and host to what is sure to be an epic Renaissance-era re-enactment in early 2025.
The campaign also featured a “Tourism in Lombardy” seminar held on the occasion of the Italy-America Chamber’s Taste of Italy Fair at Eataly in Dallas, the largest trade fair in the U.S. devoted exclusively to Italian food and wine. The presenter, an expert on Italian food culture and history, led participants on a virtual tour of Lombardy’s countless culinary treasures, including a wine tasting featuring one of Valtellina’s delicious mountain-grown wines.
We were also thrilled to welcome Perillo Tours, a leading resource for Italian vacations, as the chamber’s partner in promoting awareness of Italy’s “off the beaten path.”
The project has been met with enthusiastic interest on both sides of the Atlantic, leading to new relationships between Lombardy’s excellent network of regional and local tourism boards and tour operators and consumers here in the U.S.
The best news is that a new Regione Lombardia campaign and partnership has been planned for early 2025.
