IACC connects 50+ Italian food companies with top southern buyers and specialists

on Sunday, February 24, the Italy-America Chamber of Commerce Texas will be hosting a seminar for a group of 50+ Italian winemakers, food producers, and Italian-focused food and wine trade distributors and importers at the Hilton Post Oak hotel in Houston’s Galleria district.

They are all traveling to Texas especially for the event, which will also feature industry leaders and specialists like Patrick Collins, senior manager at Rouses Supermarket which includes more than 70 locations and 6,500+ employees across Louisiana, Alabama, and Mississippi.

Collins currently oversees the chain’s “private label product line,” including a wide variety of Italian food items.

He’ll be speaking to the food and wine producers — the majority of which don’t have representation in America — about “how to make your brand relevant in the U.S. market.”

In other words, he’ll be sharing his insights into what gets him and his colleagues excited about a new Italian food product or brand. We couldn’t be more thrilled that he will be joining us together with acclaimed food and wine writer Bruce Schoenfeld; Master Sommelier June Rodil; veteran restaurateur and wine importer and Nathan Smith; New York-based Italian food product importer Cecilia Ercolino, and Italian food and wine educator and writer Jeremy Parzen, who will lead the panel.

Among the authentic Italian food and products to be presented at this year’s event, exhibitors will be featuring the following:

– Cured meats: Speck, Prosciutto di Parma and Toscano, Porchetta, Salami
– Cheeses: Pecorino Romano, Pecorino Toscano, Asiago, Monti Trentini
– Pasta
– Sauces
– Mineral water and sodas
– Wines

The theme for this year’s discussion is “how to make your Italian food or wine brand relevant in the United States.”
