The Italy-America Chamber of Commerce of Texas (IACC Texas) joins Jimmy Butera's family and friends in mourning the passing of a remarkable member of our Italian-American community.

Jimmy J. Butera passed away peacefully on July 22, 2026 at the age of 84. Proud of his Sicilian heritage, he built an extraordinary career spanning more than six decades in the wine and spirits industry. After serving in executive leadership roles with Pernod Ricard, representing iconic brands such as Wild Turkey and Campari, he successfully founded and led his own wine and spirits importing company.

For many years, Jimmy, together with his son Giacomo (Jim Jr.), was not only a valued supporter but also a dear friend of the IACC Texas. Through their company, they actively participated in our events and initiatives dedicated to the promotion of Italian wine, contributing with enthusiasm, professionalism, and a genuine passion for Italy's rich wine culture. Their longstanding friendship and support have left a lasting mark on our Chamber and on everyone who had the pleasure of working with them.

Jimmy will be remembered not only for his remarkable professional achievements but also for his warmth, generosity, sense of humor, and exceptional ability to make everyone feel welcome.

The entire IACC Texas staff extends its deepest condolences to Giacomo, the entire Butera family, and all who had the privilege of knowing Jimmy. His friendship, dedication, and passion for promoting Italian excellence will always remain part of the Chamber's history.

May he rest in peace.
