IACC member Sud Italia lands “hot new chef” writes Houston Chronicle food editor Greg Morago

Sud Italia lands hot new chef,” wrote Houston Chronicle food editor Greg Morago for the paper last week.

He was referring to the restaurant’s new executive chef Maurizio Ferrarese (above), formerly of the restaurant Quattro at the Four Seasons here in Houston and one of the top Italian chefs working in the U.S. today.

Part of the Italy-America Chamber of Commerce mission is that of promoting awareness of authentic Italian food products and genuine Italian foodways.

We couldn’t be more thrilled to see a world-class Italian chef like Maurizio join our member’s team. Not only has Maurizio opened Italian concepts for the Four Seasons group around the world (including Florence, Italy), he’s also worked at some of the best restaurants in Italy, including the celebrated Villa d’Este on Lake Como.

Congratulations, Maurizio! We look forward to enjoying your cooking.

And congratulations, Sud Italia, for keeping a great culinary resource like Maurizio here in Texas!
