Last night Houston’s Italian community, the Italian Consulate and Rugby USA Officials welcome the Italian Rugby Team to Houston ahead of this Saturday’s International Rugby match between Italy and the USA.
“It’s a great honor to receive the Italian team to Houston while I am stationed here,” Italian Consul General Fabrizio Nava told EaDo Life at the welcome reception.

“Viva Azzurri is the theme of the evening,” proclaimed Consul General Fabrizio Nava. “The Italian business, cultural and sports communities of Houston are extremely excited to be welcoming the entire Italian National Rugby Team and we are most grateful to the ICCC and IACC for hosting this reception. Sports is such an important part of the Italian culture, we are so thrilled that the Houston Dynamo has this beautiful new stadium where this game can be played,” said the Consul General.
The Italian Cultural & Community Center (ICCC) and the Italy – America Chamber of Commerce (IACC) in cooperation with the Consul General of Italy in Houston and the Committees for Italians Abroad (Com.It.Es), hosted a reception, by invitation only, to honor the Italian National Rugby Team at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at the ICCC. The Italian National Rugby Team will face the USA National Rugby Team at BBVA Compass Stadium 7:30 p.m., on Saturday, June 23, 2012, at 7:30 p.m.
The reception was underwritten by Arcodoro Restaurant, Carmelo’s Ristorante Italiano, Harris County – Houston Sports Authority, Prestigious Event Rentals, Quattro Restaurant at Four Seasons Hotel, Sunbelt Imports, Inc., Truewine, Thorntree and Imola Ceramica.
