Congratulations to this year’s winners! It was an impressive lineup of entries and between so many great restaurants participating, the competition was stiff!
It was wonderful to see so many great pasta dishes and so many pasta lovers under the same roof!
The 2nd annual Authentic Italian Table/Houston Pasta Festival 2019 was attended by more than 600 people who had the opportunity to taste pasta entries from more than 20 local restaurants.
Pastries and other Italian food products were also enjoyed by the hungry festival-goers.
The PEOPLES CHOICE PASTA was selected by festival attendees.
A panel of five Houston food writers judged the other entries. With CultureMap food editor Eric Sandler as its chair, it also included Houston Chronicle food columnist J.C. Reid, Houston Food Blogger Collective president and Gristle and Gossip author Renia Butler, Swanky Maven author Felice Sloan, and Italian food historian Jeremy Parzen.
Eric also moderated a panel on “Pasta in Houston Today”: Panelists shared their current favorite pasta destinations in Houston and talked about the city’s bustling Italian restaurant landscape.
The IACC would also like to thank the judges for spending their Sunday afternoon with us.
It was a great day for pasta in Houston!
