Please join the Italy-America Chamber of Commerce South Central on Wednesday, October 21 for the latest in our webinar series: “The Future of Virtual Tasting Events” with Maurizio Gamberucci, organizer of the Taste of Italy virtual trade fair, GrapeIn founder Jack Cohen Martin, wine writer and educator Jeremy Parzen, Spec’s Italian wine buyer Tom Dobson, and Italian export manager Roberto Cane of Vite Colte.

Now in its 7th year, Taste of Italy Houston is the largest trade festival in the U.S. devoted exclusively to Italian food and wine. Each year it hosts 100+ winemakers and food producers.

“We’re really pleased with the results of our first-ever virtual event,” said Maurizio, who will also leading the October 21 discussion. “While the event was an overwhelming success, it also revealed some unforeseen challenges that arise in this still uncharted territory.”

Our guest speakers will share their experiences from the first-ever Taste of Italy virtual trade fair, which was held last month in cities throughout Texas with the participation of winemakers in Italy.

Our panelists will share their insights into what virtual wine tasting is going to “look and feel like” moving forward, including GrapeIn’s innovation new platform for connecting winemakers with wine buyers across the U.S.

IACC deputy director Maurizio Gamberucci has been the organizer of the Taste of Italy trade fair and festival since its inception more than seven years ago. He and his team have built the event into one of the most important gatherings for food and wine professionals in the U.S.

Jack Cohen Martin is an entrepreneur and tech wizard who has now shifted his focus to wine. His GrapeIn platform connects small wineries directly with buyers through innovative software.

Jeremy Parzen is an Italy-focused wine writer, blogger, and educator based in Houston. His blog DoBianchi.com is considered a leading resource for Italian wine lovers and wine professionals.

As the Italian wine buyer for Spec’s, with its more than 190 locations across the state of Texas, Tom Dobson is one of the leading purveyors of wines from Italy in the U.S.

Roberto Cane serves as the export director for the Piedmontese cooperative winery Vite Colte, which represents 180 growers of Nebbiolo and Barbera among other native grape varieties.
